Beaulieu-sur-Mer Attractions
Near the station at At Place Clemenceau you will find ‘Le Palais des Anglais’ which dates back to the reign of Queen Victoria. The village square is nearby and here you can visit the Provencal Market which takes place most mornings. A good time to visit the market is on a Saturday morning.
The Anglican church of Saint Michael built in 1893 is located at the Chemin des Myrtes and further on at Rue Gallieni you can visit the Church du Sacre Coeur built in 1899. The Roman chapel of Sancta Maria de Olivo is also nearby and dates back to the 9th century. In front stands the luxury hotel La Reserve dating from 1880.
Heading towards the port at pier Whitechurch you will be able to view magnificent yachts and a shopping gallery. Further along you will find the beach of Petite Afrique. Although part is private, there is an area open to the public.
Near to the port is the ‘Jardin de l’Olivate’ and the rue Jean Bracco where the gardens house over one hundred olive trees. Close to the Hotel Metropole is the Residence Eiffel in which the constructor of the Eiffel Tower once lived.
Finally, don’t forget to visit the Greek Villa Kerylos. Walking out of town along the coast you will arive at Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. You will also pass by another beach in the Baie des Fourmis.
